NCCS believes that every person living in Newaygo County should have food, heat, safe and affordable housing, and other basic necessities for their households. Unfortunately many families are in crisis, struggling to make ends meet due to job loss, low wages, fixed incomes, an injury or illness, or lack of affordable housing. NCCS Family and Household Services strives to restore families to a condition that is not dominated by crisis and stress by meeting immediate, basic needs. Further, NCCS case managers routinely collaborate with other local human service agencies to help families create long-term solutions that prevent future crises and lead to greater self-sufficiency.

Goals

  • To assist Newaygo County low-income residents with basic needs such as food, heat, safe and affordable housing, and other necessities.

  • To increase the independence and self-sufficiency of Newaygo County low-income families and individuals.

  • To promote and create long-term solutions to the barriers facing Newaygo County’s low-income families and individuals.
